The municipality of Sencelles

At the heart of Es Pla, among vineyards bearing fruit once again and talayotic monuments that stood here three thousand years ago, lies a municipality shared between villages and hamlets. Each with its own bell tower, its own silence, its own people.

Sencelles reveals itself, street by street, village by village.

And there are many ways to do it. On foot, following in the footsteps of a talayotic culture that still breathes through every stone on its paths. At the table, with a wine that has been fermenting in this land for centuries and a cuisine that needs no flourishes to win you over. Or, quite simply, by staying just one night more — because there are things about Sencelles that cannot be discovered in a single visit.

Explore it, savour it, sleep in it. You choose where to begin.

Sencelles

Sencelles has around 3,000 registered inhabitants and is one of the municipalities that form part of the Pla de Mallorca. The municipal area comprises several villages: Biniali, Cas Canà, Jornets, Ruberts and Son Arrossa.

Biniali

Biniali, the municipality's second-largest village with around 250 inhabitants, holds eight archaeological sites (most notably the Cona Monja) and a place name of Arabic origin (Bânû Alî) recalling its ancient farmstead.

Hamlets

These small settlements tend to have very few buildings and a very small number of houses, streets and residents. In Sencelles, the hamlets of Jornets, Ruberts and Cas Canà (Cascanar) can be found.
